STRESS MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
Ms.Preeti Mehra conducted a structured and insightful workshop on Stress Management, designed to help individuals develop psychological awareness and practical coping strategies to manage everyday stress effectively.
The workshop began with an in-depth exploration of the nature of stress, its physiological and psychological impact, and how chronic stress can contribute to issues like anxiety, low mood, irritability, and difficulty in concentration. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their own stress responses, personal triggers, and patterns of coping that may no longer be serving them.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches, Ms. Preeti introduced participants to techniques for:
-
Identifying unhelpful thought patterns
-
Challenging cognitive distortions
-
Reframing stressful situations
-
Regulating emotional responses
-
Practicing present-moment awareness
The session included interactive activities, self-assessment exercises, and practical tools such as thought diaries, grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and emotion regulation strategies. Emphasis was placed on developing psychological resilience -the ability to adapt, recover, and maintain stability in the face of stress.
Key themes covered:
-
Understanding stress: short-term vs. chronic
-
How thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact under pressure
-
The role of self-talk in stress intensification or reduction
-
Evidence-based self-regulation techniques for everyday use
Participants expressed increased self-awareness, a clearer understanding of their emotional responses, and greater confidence in managing stress constructively. The workshop created a safe and supportive space for reflection, learning, and skill-building.
